San Diego Spaniel Rescue can use your help! Why foster?
The satisfaction you get from helping a cocker spaniel in need is more than you can imagine. They are great companions and give you unconditional love; and of course the gratitude of the cockers and SDSR.
Medical, flea, and heart worm treatments as well as the initial grooming, vet checks, ear cleaner, and food will be provided for foster homes. Crates, bedding, shampoo, and towels can also be provided.
Foster homes are asked to provide basic training, such as housebreaking and reinforcing basic commands, transportation to events, and daily care. Feedback to the foster coordinator and medical coordinator is necessary to help better find forever homes for these cockers. Probably the most important thing the foster home can do is provide attention and love.
To become a foster home, fill out the Adoption Application and in the dog’s name enter FOSTER HOME. The more foster homes we have, the more cockers we can help.
Donations can come in the forms, not only money (cash, check, charge, or Paypal), but your time and items for the dogs. Transporting dogs to and from medical appointments, events, and meet and greets with prospective adopters are other ways to donate time.
Items such a doggie blankets, beds, leashes, and clip-type collars, crates, chew toys (no rawhide please), dog treats, grooming supplies, flea and heart worm treatments, doggie and non-doggie related unique and appealing items for our fundraising auctions.
SDSR is a 501(c)(3) charity, which means you can get a tax write-off for your donations. A very special THANK YOU! to all of our current and previous supporters!
All volunteers with SDSR, including the Board of Directors, are not paid for their services. We do what we do because we love the breed and know that together we can make a difference - not only in the lives of the dogs in our care, but in the lives of the people we adopt to. Our volunteers are our heart and soul and make all things possible in our organization. They brainstorm, create, solve, love, and contribute all that they can to help San Diego Spaniel Rescue run smoothly.
